About

The Baltic 61 is part of the semicustom line from Baltic Yachts. It is a comfortable cruising yacht that doesn’t mind a little speed without any tonnage limits, as required by the owner. Although it is based on the Baltic 60, the hull has been studied to optimise speed, while the keel, with torpedo bulb, makes the vessel extremely stable.

Characteristics

Hull and deck are in carbon/epoxy/corecell composite. The vacuum laminates are post-cured at 70° for at least 16 hours. The carbon sandwich interiors are finished in teak. The deck layout includes a cockpit: proceeding from stern to bow there are two double, symmetrical cabins for the area. Amidships are the stairs to the engine room. To the sides, on one part are the course plotting area and the dinette and, on the opposite side, the galley, followed by a large owner’s cabin connected to the bathroom with shower. At the far end of the bow is the crew bathroom. The sail plan is rather powerful and includes a mainsail and genoa that can be furled away. The retractable anchor is amongst one of the most innovative, and the keel blade ends in a torpedo shape. As far as transmission is concerned, equally innovative solutions have been studied; the 150 Hp power installed thanks to a cuttingedge driver will mean there is no need to use a prop axle. The power genset will be a 24V model able to charge gel batteries directly and supply the air conditioning system. The 220 V power will be produced by an inverter. The design is by Vrolijk/ Vismara/ R& J Design.
