Blizzard

About

Based on the design of the successful hull “Querida”, the “Blizzard” project was developed around the dual possibility offered by ims regulations to have a hull with high-performance lines and comfortable interiors for cruising, with volumes in line with craft of a similar size and it has been devised for production in series.
The performance and excellent race rating are in fact favoured by a maximum beam aft of the area amidships and not too accentuated – a solution that makes it possible to have in the bow region the extremely thin sections are underlined by the bow lines.

Characteristics

The transom, which is closed to allow the project to be classified in the Cruiser category, remains high on the water, which optimises its rating in light wind conditions. The mastheaded sail plan has been studied to have the typical ratios between mainsail and genoa of a fractional rig. A generously sized mainsail is used with a relatively small genoa and spinnaker in order to make sailing easier, especially when cruising. The interiors are in wood, while the fixtures and fittings have a sandwich construction; the master cabin is in the stern, with two separate queensized beds, while the second cabin has a large double bed for guests. The dinette is welcoming and the galley is perfectly equipped for cruising. The hull and deck are built in GRP using a female mould.
