About

Comfort and elegance. These are the key words that feature large on the new 52’ Vismara. The owner’s request was: a fast cruiser with a deck plan laid out for simple use with a smaller crew. In other words, an easy sailing craft.

The Boat

The design project for the vessel is by Vismara, together with the owner, Angelo Bruni, well-known fashion designer and head of the “Guess” line for Europe. This means that the style, colours and materials are extremely refined. The hull, deck and bulkheads have been built using vacuum epoxy lamination, post-cured at 60 degrees, GRP and carbon. From a technical viewpoint, the boat is the maximum expression of the Vismara Easy Sailing concept and in particular, the sails, which include: furling lines and code zero furling lines set in below deck, carbon mast with electric mainsail furler boom, totally concealed lines, run on electric winches, and hydraulic main sheet with internal piston. Other sailing comforts include: concealed anchor in the bottom of the hull, retracting bow thruster, foldaway cockpit table, lengthways tender compartment with 2.60 m electric tender, sail locker and very capacious peaks, sundeck area and cockpit seats that convert to loungers, and splashguard hood which folds away completely. The deckhouse is fully glazed, all the way round, with composite material ceiling. It is actually an intermediate version between the V52-01 and the V62; only in this case, the multi-faceted deckhouse with “motor vehicle” design, has fronts and sides in plate glass and the glazing extends aftwards, to the cabins behind.

Another special and innovative feature is the telescopic retracting keel: this is a new Vismara design for draft of 2.40 to 3.60 m and, thanks to the new system, it does not occupy any room inside the boat. For the propulsion and to reach the speed of 11 knots per engine, we have chosen the brand new 86 HP engine with electronic control and complete with integrated permanent magnet genset. The hull will be gold in colour and instead of teak, the deck will be covered with a special non-slip surface created with a pattern of sand-coloured, tactile-effect paint. Below deck, the interiors are ultra-modern. The overall layout is that of the V52’ but with a new style for the master cabin in the bow where, thanks to a special carbon bulkhead, it has been possible to eliminate the through mast and rest it on the deck. This makes the boat more open and comfortable. The master cabin has two queen-sized beds and a large bathroom with separate shower cubicle. After the master cabin, towards the stern, is a saloon with galley area, which is sunken compared to the dining room/lounge. A screen that serves both as a TV and map computer, comes out of the table unit, so it can be watched from inside and outside, while sailing. There are two identical, symmetrical cabins in the stern, each with twin beds and a bathroom. The furnishings are all in composite material, lacquered in the colours tobacco brown and gold, bamboo and gold tex. The inside of the hull and the ceilings are ivory. You might say that the overall style for this craft has an oriental feel. The launch date is set for March 2008.
