Characteristics

The linear and simple forms in this design are reflected in the flushdeck layout: the rig is reduced to a minimum, with halyards running below deck in special ducts. The companions are custom made and low profile, as are the cleats, fairleads and two capstan drums, envisaged fore and aft. The stanchions and pulpits are in sandblasted steel. The sail plan includes a large batten main and a genoa with low overlap which, together with the medium-light displacement and the high stabilising keel, make the craft easier to manoeuvre. Another detail of the “Ghibellina” is the trim tab fitted on the keel, as currently used by the most modern Americas Cup vessels, to improve the reach angle and reactivity of the helm during broad reach and so that the vessel is always safe and easy to pilot. Interiors with cutting-edge concepts, designed in conjunction with architect Lapo Ruffi, giving the composite materials of the hull a predominant role that will respect and enhance the material itself by inserting along the whole length of the interiors, wide strips of exposed and polished carbon fibre to allow the structural shell to be perceived in every point of the boat.

The light created by the exposed carbon fibre is a harmonious contrast with the stainless steel of the different panels and the support frames of the wall cabinets, and amongst the large wooden areas of the bleached teak furnishings and strips in frosted Plexiglas. The concept of interior space is based on the architectural criteria of a loft with an array of interwoven perspectives, from the galley to the stern cabin. Proceeding from the stern to the bow, on the starboard side, is a service cabin with its own bathroom and washing machine and on the port side, a multi-accessorised galley, with separate cook top and oven. Also worth mentioning is the placement of the engine room, in a central part, together with the entrance steps which are open all round. There is a large stainless steel refrigerator in front of the engine room. The dinette, which is comprised of a living area, dining area and office desk, is also very comfortable. The bow area is dedicated to the guest cabins, with separate beds and own bathroom and a generously sized double master cabin with Teuco shower/ sauna. The large sail locker is accessible from the deck. The boat has air conditioning, generator, water maker, washing machine, dishwasher and macerator. A tender is stored in its own stern garage.
