Go Fast Guaglione

About

The design project for “Go Fast Guaglione” is based on the winning designs of Jonathan IV (Italian Champion in 1993) and Gen Mar (World Champion, 1994) and on the construction techniques tried and tested previously on the multi-prizewinning “Querida”.

The Project

The hull is made with a geodetic structure and monolithic planking in biaxial GRP and epoxy resin, a solution that guarantees the maximum light weight and rigidity as well as a handicap on the rating. Thanks to this type of structure and in particular, to the special profiles of the bulb and steering, as well as the stern profile of the hull with “low dynamic length”, the boat is significantly longer and has a much greater sail area, which means it performs even better.

Interiors

The layout of the interiors and the deck plan guarantee excellent weight concentration. The cockpit and deckhouse, with just two winches and cross-over rig so as to be able to work windward, are functional and without frills. The sail plan is the result of the latest studies into aerodynamic efficiency calculation for the IMS system sail plan used on small craft, and it features a large main sail with a small triangle, fore.
